Internship Purpose & General Summary

Key Responsibilities
As an intern with the Live Operations Team, you will gain hands-on experience and provide support across various crucial areas:
- Provide direct support to the Live Operations Team, assisting with daily tasks and initiatives.
- Shadowing within the Hatchery: Gain a comprehensive understanding of proper egg handling procedures, vaccination processes, chick transferring, and chick handling. You will also learn about the specific roles and responsibilities of each employee in this critical area.
- Broiler Operations: Witness firsthand communication with growers and shadow broiler technicians to understand their day-to-day activities. Develop knowledge of housing conditions, farm operations, and best practices.
- Breeder Operations: Shadow pullet crews to gain firsthand experience in servicing, vaccinations, and weighing processes, understanding the care and management of breeder flocks.
- Feed Mills: Tour the entire feed mill facility to observe the complete feed production process. Understand the different types of feed formulations and the rigorous testing procedures involved in ensuring quality.
- Live Haul Process: Observe the overall live haul process, understanding logistics and contributing by helping unload trucks.
- Project Completion: Undertake, complete, and present a dedicated project focused on identifying and addressing issues within the rendering department, providing solutions and recommendations.

Qualifications
We are looking for motivated individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in a four-year university or actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
Compensation & Benefits
The successful applicant for this position will be eligible for the following:
- A competitive wage of $21 per hour.
- A $2,500 relocation stipend to assist with moving expenses.
