Job Description: Summer Internship Program
This is a paid, rotational internship program designed to provide interns with comprehensive, hands-on experience in various facets of the electrical industry from different perspectives.
Key Learning Areas and Rotations:
As a CED intern, you will gain experience in a wide range of company operations, including:
• Warehousing & Logistics: Understanding the flow of products and supply chain management.
• Inventory control & Quality assurance: Learning about managing stock and ensuring product standards.
• Customer Relations: Developing skills in interacting with and serving customers.
• Purchasing Logistics: Gaining insight into the procurement process.
• Financial Planning: Understanding financial aspects of business operations.
• Management & Project Management: Exposure to leadership and project execution.
• Inside/Outside Sales: Learning about sales strategies and customer engagement.
Interns are actively involved in completing real projects for profit center managers, with their work directly influencing decision-making within the company. Through each rotation, interns will gain unique insights into CED’s company culture and available career opportunities.
Candidate Profile:
CED is seeking talented individuals with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ideal candidates are described as driven, enthusiastic, and highly motivated.
Reports to: Training manager
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Possession of a current, valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Authorization to work in the United States without requiring work authorization sponsorship from CED now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software.
Additional Competencies:
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to solve problems.
• Must be a self-starter capable of handling a heavy volume of work and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Working Conditions:
The working conditions are varied and depend on the intern’s current segment of training. Environments may include:
• Warehouse: Potentially involving activities like lifting, sorting, standing, and exposure to extreme heat or cold conditions.
• Office: May include sitting for extended periods.
• External Environments: Involvement in various outside settings.
Some segments will require travel, both by car and by air.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Essential Job Functions:
• Learning all aspects of the CED business.
• Communicating effectively – both written and spoken – in English.
