Summary:
The Summer Internship Program at CED offers a competitive, paid, and rotational internship designed to provide participants with hands-on experience across various facets of the electrical industry. Interns will gain comprehensive insight into different perspectives of company operations, including:
• Warehousing & Logistics
• Inventory control & Quality assurance
• Customer Relations
• Purchasing Logistics
• Financial Planning
• Management & Project Management
• Inside/Outside sales
A key aspect of this internship is the opportunity for interns to engage in real projects for profit center managers, directly contributing to decision-making processes within the company. This program is structured to provide interns with a unique understanding of CED’s company culture and the various career opportunities available within the organization.
CED is seeking talented individuals who possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ideal candidates are described as driven, enthusiastic, and highly motivated.
Reports to: Training manager
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Possession of a current, valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Authorization to work in the United States (without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software.
Additional Competencies:
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to solve problems.
• Must be a self-starter who can handle a heavy volume of work and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions for interns are variable and depend on the specific segment of the training program they are currently in. Environments may include warehouses, offices, and external settings. During certain segments, activities could involve lifting, sorting, standing, and potential exposure to extreme heat or cold conditions. Office segments might require sitting for extended periods. Additionally, various segments of the internship will involve some travel, both by car and by air.

Essential Job Functions:
• Learning all aspects of the CED business.
• Communicating – both written and spoken – in English.
Compensation Range:
The compensation for this internship position ranges from $14 to $20 hourly.
