This Summer Internship Program at Moors & Cabot offers current college students a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience within the Financial Services industry. This internship is designed to be a meaningful and educational experience, providing mentorship from experienced leaders and valuable networking opportunities. Interns will engage in significant projects, culminating in a presentation of accomplishments and key learning takeaways to peers and team members. The role specifically focuses on applying software development and architecture knowledge to support and enhance various data automation, integration, and reporting efforts. Interns will work on hardening custom software, integrating AI models, and developing proprietary intellectual property. This full-time internship is based out of the Boston headquarters on a hybrid schedule (at least 3 days in office, up to 2 days remote) and reports to the EVP of Strategic Initiatives. Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
Role Responsibilities
AI & Automation
- Design scalable application modules to automate data ingestion, comparison, and export processes.
- Develop AI agents and APIs to create custom integrations between in-house products.
- Refactor and prepare the in-house Business Intelligence Platform for potential external production solutions.
- Enhance core Moors & Cabot automation and data management applications.
Custom Solutions Development
- Maintain, enhance, and develop point automation solutions to transition manual processes into automated software procedures.
- Collect requirements, design, and build reports within the Moors & Cabot Business Intelligence Platform to meet analytics needs.
- Explore and implement opportunities to enhance and refactor database tables and reports.
- Develop ad-hoc queries and views to facilitate database-side blending of data.
Marketing Software Development
- Produce demo data to support the commercialization efforts of Moors & Cabot’s tech ventures solutions.
- Support the development and maintenance of the Moors & Cabot public-facing website and internal Intranet using Wix and Google Sites platforms.
Technical Writing/Documentation
- Document procedures, best practices, and limitations for the Moors & Cabot Business Intelligence Platform and other proprietary solutions.

Minimum Requirements
- Undergraduate student currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Analysis, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Javascript (or similar), Google scripting, and SQL.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and programming skills.
- Strategic, methodology-driven, and consultative mindset.
- Superb time management and follow-through skills.
- Creative, highly professional, and detail-oriented.
- Experience with AI programming, Google Cloud, or BigQuery is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
