Job Description: Summer Internship Program

The San Diego Padres 10-Week Summer Internship Program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn from best-in-class talent at a first-class organization. Interns will experience day-to-day projects and tasks in Information Technology, working during the season on game and non-game days for the full experience. They will add significant value to the organization while building relationships through Leadership-led Coffee Chats and Networking Events. The program focuses on providing insight into the workforce, a taste of the professional sports industry, and guidance towards a suitable career.

Responsibilities:

• Exemplify the Padres Core Values/Mission Statement: Communication and Collaboration, Progress and Innovation, Accountability and Integrity, and Effort and Results.
• Support the IT team in maintaining computer hardware and software.
• Assist with department projects.
• Participate in day-of-game support.
• Learn all facets of Information Technology.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and knowledge of basic office equipment (telephone, fax, copier, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work effectively with others in a collaborative and respectful manner.
• Strong sense of teamwork and the ability to create and maintain positive relationships within the organization.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to follow directions and meet deadlines.
• Professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability.
• Consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Requirements:

• Current college/university student who has completed Sophomore or Junior year by June 2025 OR current graduate student.
• Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment.
• Must be available mid-June 2025 through mid-August 2025.
• Able to work during Padres home games and other special events, which may include weekends and evenings.
• Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
• Must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including a background check.

Compensation:

• hourly pay rate: $20.42.
• Part-time, non-union employees are subject to the San Diego Living Wage Ordinance and rates will increase accordingly.
