About JT4, LLC:
JT4, LLC is a company that provides engineering and technical support to various Western test ranges for the US Air Force, Space Force, and Navy. They operate under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, also known as J-Tech II. JT4 focuses on developing and maintaining realistic, integrated test and training environments to prepare the nation’s war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for current and future missions.
2025 Summer Internship Program:
JT4 is seeking candidates for their 14-week, paid summer internship program at their Colorado Springs location. The program offers students the chance to gain valuable career experience, participate in active projects, and explore various career opportunities within the company’s highly technical departments. Many interns build lasting relationships with mentors and return for multiple summers, with some even continuing to work part-time during the school year.
Typical Projects:
Interns work on a variety of projects typically involving:
• Electrical Engineering: Tasks usually related to radio frequency, radar, and measurements.
• Real Time Programming: Languages such as C, VxWorks.
• Mathematical Algorithm Development: Using software like MatLab.
• Object-oriented programming: Languages including C++, C#, and/or Java.
Examples of past projects include:
• Programming Raspberry Pi Boards to replace video capture equipment.
• Creating software to track systems using the NASA earth model.
• Adapting infrastructure to convert serial protocols to faster Ethernet protocols.
Intern Responsibilities:
Each intern is supervised by a JT4 mentor and participates in ongoing projects to the greatest extent possible. Tasks are entry-level and include:
• Conducting research and reference reading to assist engineers.
• Performing basic engineering tasks like tolerance studies and design calculations.
• Planning and executing engineering steps under guidance.
• Supporting projects with detailed instructions.
• Studying engineering standards, codes, and procedures.
• Assisting in report preparation, correspondence, and technical studies.
• Performing other position-related duties as assigned.
