Summer Internship in Applied Technologies, Technical Development
This is a summer internship opportunity in the Applied Technologies, Technical Development group in Norwood, MA from June 2, 2025 – August 15, 2025.
In this role, you will:
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team: Work alongside engineers and scientists to design, develop, and implement technology solutions across various stages of drug development and manufacturing.
• Develop automated systems: Assist in the design and testing of automated systems and technologies, ensuring they meet operational and quality standards for clinical and commercial production.
• Contribute to process automation: Support the development of process automation strategies and contribute to the creation of documentation and training materials.
• Troubleshoot existing systems: Participate in the analysis and troubleshooting of existing systems, providing input on potential improvements and optimizations.
• Engage in continuous learning: Stay updated on the latest advancements in applied technologies through team meetings, training sessions, and project collaboration.
• Drive innovation: Contribute to the advancement of technology integration processes that drive efficiency and innovation in Moderna’s production pipeline.
Requirements:
• Enrollment: Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical), Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong interest: Demonstrated interest in applied technologies, automation, and systems integration.
• Basic knowledge: Understanding of engineering principles and a willingness to apply them in real-world scenarios.
• Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication skills: Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Proactive approach: A proactive approach to learning and applying new skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• GPA: GPA of 3.5 on a 4 scale or equivalent.
• Previous experience: Internship/Co-op or project experience related to automation, robotics, or technology development.
• Programming experience: Familiarity with programming languages or software used in automation and systems engineering.
• Design experience: Experience with CAD software or other design tools.
• Innovation: Enthusiasm for working on innovative projects that push the boundaries of current technology.
