Job Description: Summer Internship – Human Resources Management Department

This is a paid, full-time summer internship (June 9, 2025 – August 1, 2025) in the Human Resources Management Department at BNSF Railway, located in Fort Worth, TX. Two positions are available. The monthly salary is $4,206. One day per week of remote work is permitted. Relocation is required if the applicant lives more than 50 miles from Fort Worth. Minimal travel is expected.

Internship Responsibilities:

The internship offers hands-on experience across various HR functions, including:

Talent Acquisition: Participating in the hiring process.
Employee Relations: Contributing to initiatives related to employee well-being and engagement.
Organizational Development: Supporting programs aimed at improving organizational effectiveness.
Project Leadership: Leading and participating in projects impacting business decisions and the organization’s future.
Collaboration & Presentation: Partnering with HR teams, sharing insights, proposing recommendations, and presenting proposals to team and senior leaders.
Process Exposure: Gaining exposure to performance management and talent development processes.

The program includes professional development workshops and mentorship from experienced HR leaders. Successful interns may be offered full-time Management Trainee positions upon graduation.

Training:

The internship begins with a two-day orientation in Fort Worth, covering company information and networking opportunities. Ongoing project support and departmental training will follow.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
• At least 18 years old upon hire.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business, or a similar field from an accredited university.
• Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA.
• Less than three years of professional work experience (excluding internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing a degree).
• Reliable transportation to and from the BNSF location.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior internship or less than 3 years of experience in HR or a related field.
• Leadership experience in a campus, community, or extracurricular organization.
• Pursuing a degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology.
