Pay: $16.00 per hour

About the Role:

This Summer Internship offers a unique and immersive learning environment within the environmental services industry. As an Environmental Technician Intern, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Dragonfly’s clients receive services of the highest quality, maximizing both efficiency and productivity, all while strictly adhering to regulations governing the treatment of ponds and lakes. This position is integral to the smooth and profitable execution of our work and is specifically designed to cultivate and develop future leaders for the company. You will gain hands-on experience, shadow various departments, and learn the essential operations of a leading environmental service provider.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report directly to and work closely with the Crew Lead.
Shadow various departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of company operations, including treatment protocols, equipment management, and client relations.
• Actively participate in the identification and treatment of invasive weeds in aquatic environments.
• Conduct thorough visual inspections of pond components to assess health and identify issues.
• Perform site maintenance tasks, including mowing, weed-eating, and general site cleanup.
• Learn to safely and proficiently operate a variety of equipment, such as Ventrac, Wright Mower, Grandstand Mower, Hedge Trimmer, Chainsaw, and String Trimmer.

Requirements:

Educational Background: Actively enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in natural sciences or a compatible environmental studies program. Preference will be given to candidates entering their Junior or Senior year.
Passion for the Outdoors: A proven interest in working outdoors combined with a genuine passion for creating and maintaining healthy aquatic systems.
Work Availability: Desire and availability for a full-time, five-day work week.
Experience: Relevant work experience is desired but not required, as this is a learning-focused internship.
Physical Capabilities:
• Ability to swim.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 75 pounds.
• Capacity to adapt and/or improvise quickly, as demanded by varying conditions or unforeseen factors in an outdoor work environment.
