Summer Internship Program

The New York Life Investments Summer Internship Program is a 10-week paid opportunity for rising juniors and seniors seeking to launch their careers in finance. The program is designed to provide valuable hands-on experience, skill development, and networking opportunities.

Here’s what the program offers:

Positions across various firms: New York Life Investments Management, Apogem Capital, and MacKay Shields offer opportunities in areas like Marketing, Product, Strategy, Data & Technology, Finance & Accounting, Tax, Business Intelligence, Municipal Bonds, High Yield, Fixed Income, and Marketing.
Weekly intern events: These include Lunch & Learns, Meet & Greets with senior leaders, and market calls, fostering knowledge sharing and networking.
Training and development seminars: Enhance your skills and knowledge through tailored programs.
Networking opportunities: Connect with fellow interns and experienced employees through social events and mentorship programs.
Potential for full-time employment: High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time analyst role upon graduation.

Job Description:

What you’ll do:

Your responsibilities will vary depending on your placement, but could include:

Creating and presenting: Work on individual and group presentations, contributing to project insights.
Collaborating with stakeholders: Partner with internal teams (marketing, sales, business intelligence, etc.) to achieve project goals.
Developing marketing materials: Collaborate with investment partners to create engaging content for various platforms, including blogs, webcasts, videos, brochures, presentations, and flyers.
Research and analysis: Synthesize research and develop compelling presentations to inform new product recommendations.
Project management: Help prioritize and manage tasks related to new product launches or modifications.
Event coordination: Assist with planning and organizing conferences, seminars, and meetings.
Operational support: Contribute to daily tasks like database maintenance, managing queues, and client request input.
Credit and market research: Conduct research to gain insights into industry trends and specific securities.
Exposure to senior leadership: Gain valuable mentorship from experienced professionals.

What you’ll bring:

Passion for learning: A strong desire to learn about the investment industry.
Strong communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Technical and analytical skills: Proficient in technical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Prior experience: Internship experience or significant contributions to extracurricular activities are preferred.

Required Skills:

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, with anticipated graduation between December 2025 and June 2027.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on detail.

At the end of the program, interns may be offered a full-time Analyst position at New York Life Investments, a 2-year program with rotations across various business areas.
