Job Description:
This is a Summer Internship (July 2025 – August 2025) at Telemundo in Sacramento, CA. Interns are responsible for a range of tasks related to news production. Key responsibilities include:
• Selecting, assigning, writing, and organizing news stories.
• Writing headlines, teases, and reporter lead-ins.
• Writing new scripts, promotional teasers, headlines, and topicals.
• Contributing story ideas, participating in daily coverage decisions, and editorial meetings.
• Assisting in the overall production, content, and elements of each newscast.
• Collaborating with news producers, managers, and photographers to conceptualize, write, edit, and produce Telemundo news specials and packages.
• Communicating with news producers, assignment editors, and managers regarding local story development, progress in the field, and breaking news stories.
Qualifications:
• Must be actively pursuing an Associate, Bachelor’s, or Graduate degree from an accredited institution.
• Must have a current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be available to work at least 30 hours per week.
• Must be bilingual in Spanish (written and verbal fluently).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Need to be able to work on-site in Sacramento, CA.
Desired Qualifications:
• Previous internship experience or on-campus involvement.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-intensity environment, often under tight deadline pressures.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Strong interest in and demonstrated knowledge of current affairs.
• Excellent computer skills (especially search skills).
Salary: $17 per hour.
