Job Description: Luck Stone Summer Internship
The Luck Stone Summer Internship is an 11-week program designed for college students interested in quarry operations. The program is a comprehensive hands-on training experience covering various aspects of the industry, including:
• Pit Operations:
• Pit Design: Learn about planning and design of quarry pits.
• Haul Truck and Water Truck Operation: Receive practical training on operating heavy equipment.
• Blasting: Gain knowledge and experience in controlled blasting techniques.
• Plant Operations:
• Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Plant Operation & Maintenance: Learn the processes involved in crushing and processing aggregates.
• Quality Control: Participate in quality assurance testing and analysis.
• Other Areas:
• Sales & Dispatch: Assist with sales and logistics, including truck weighing and ticketing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Complete assigned tasks and projects with a high level of quality and attention to detail.
• Participate in hands-on training in pit and plant activities.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repair.
• Follow quality control procedures and participate in lab testing as required.
• Assist with sales and dispatch activities.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Attend daily safety briefings and actively participate in hazard identification and reporting.
• Actively seek out feedback and coaching from supervisors and team members.
• Complete an end-of-summer presentation summarizing experiences and learning outcomes.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Currently enrolled in an advanced degree or certificate program in a field related to the mining industry.
• Possesses a strong desire to grow within the mining field.
Program Dates:
• Start date/ Orientation: May 19th, 2025
• Program End: First week of August 2025
