Job Title: Summer Intern – Treasury Management Services & Deposit Operations

Liberty Bank is excited to host a dynamic and diverse 10-week summer internship program, located full-time on-site in Middletown, CT. This program is specifically designed to cultivate the next generation of banking and finance professionals. Participants will gain immersive experience, working closely with seasoned professionals, contributing to real-world projects, and developing essential skills crucial for successful careers in the financial services industry and beyond.

Job Summary:
This internship offers a unique rotational experience between our Treasury Management Services and Deposit Operations Teams. The Deposit Operations segment will focus on developing investigative skills for researching disputes and analyzing financial transactions. Concurrently, the intern will gain a comprehensive understanding of service and support functions within the Treasury Management team. This hands-on experience will significantly broaden the intern’s understanding of the banking industry, its related processes, and systems.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Financial Transaction Analysis: Analyze financial transactions and assist in quality control measures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Balancing & Reconciliation: Accurately and efficiently perform balancing and reconciling tasks across various accounts and systems.
  • Mail Request Processing: Process incoming and outgoing mail requests efficiently and accurately.
  • Product & Service Familiarization: Become familiar with Liberty Bank’s products and services through dedicated training sessions and shadowing experienced professionals.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports and daily/weekly status updates on assigned tasks and projects.
  • Cross-Departmental Communication: Communicate effectively across different departments and business lines to understand diverse processes and policies.
  • Customer Service: Deliver prompt and courteous customer service to all internal and external inquiries, maintaining Liberty Bank’s service standards.
  • Project Support: Support both Treasury Management Services and Deposit Operations teams on department-wide projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Educational Pursuit: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Preferred candidates will be majoring in Finance or Business Administration.
  • Communication Skills: Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and effective interaction.
  • Computer Proficiency: Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Analytical Skills: Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw logical conclusions.
  • Critical Thinking: Proven critical thinking skills to evaluate situations, identify problems, and propose solutions.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain meticulous records.

Physical Requirements:

  • Equipment Use: Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Keyboard Dexterity: Requires keyboard dexterity for data entry and document creation.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Travel: Ability to travel occasionally, as needed.
