Job Description:

Summer Intern Quality Engineer

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Summer Intern Quality Engineer to support the Orion Human Space Flight program at Kennedy Space Center. This is a fast-paced role within the Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations (ATLO) environment. You will work alongside experienced Quality Engineering professionals to:

Develop and Maintain Quality Systems: Create, modify, and implement quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into finished products.
Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing: Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Develop Inspection Procedures: Design and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

Qualifications:

Active Enrollment: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
Experience with Manufacturing Processes: Work or classroom experience with manufacturing processes and/or engineering documentation is required.
US Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen as this position requires a government security clearance.
Facility Access: This position is located at a facility requiring special access.

• Experience with Microsoft Excel to develop performance metrics.
• Ability to present technical data to senior leadership.

This is a part-time internship, with the specific schedule assigned by the team leader.
