Summer Internship in Marketing Department
This paid internship program is a full-time, hybrid position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, split between office work and remote work. Weekend or evening work may be required. Minimal travel is expected, and interns must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Relocation is required if the intern lives more than 50 miles from the Fort Worth location.
The internship program offers:
• A two-day orientation in Fort Worth, Texas, with company overview and networking opportunities with leaders.
• Ongoing project support and practical training within the Marketing department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Gain knowledge of the Marketing department, BNSF network, and its internal systems and applications.
• Lead projects within a Marketing business unit (Industrial Products, Agricultural Products or Consumer Products):
• Enhance the customer experience.
• Identify market trends.
• Improve or grow current business strategies.
• Create efficiencies in current processes.
• Develop an understanding of BNSF’s current business strategies, relevant markets, and identified opportunities.
• Conduct research leveraging internal and external sources and analyze data to identify trends.
• Learn Marketing systems and current process flows.
• Interact and communicate effectively with a team, leaders, and customers.
• Create recommendations based on analysis and communication to various levels within the department.
• Identify and implement new process flows or automations to current processes.
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, clear communication, adaptability, and resilience to overcome obstacles and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
This internship is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable experience in marketing within the freight transportation industry, develop essential skills, and potentially be hired as full-time Management Trainees upon graduation.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Legally authorized to work in the United States and at least 18 years old upon hire.
• Does not require sponsorship to obtain, maintain, or extend authorization to work in the United States.
• Pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Business or Supply Chain Management OR a similar degree program from an accredited university.
• Have and will maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.
• Have LESS THAN three (3) years of professional work experience, EXCLUDING internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing an undergraduate and/or graduate degree.
• Have access to reliable transportation for the duration of the internship to and from the assigned BNSF location.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior intern experience or less than 3 years of work experience in Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a Supply Chain related field.
• Have or have held a leadership position in a campus, community, or extracurricular organization.
• Pursuing a degree in Marketing (B2B) or Industrial Engineering.
