Job Description: Summer Intern for Control Management

This is a generalist internship offering hands-on experience in various aspects of operational risk management within GRC. The intern will support multiple teams and contribute to the organization’s overall operational risk management objectives.

Responsibilities:

Assisting in Implementing Operational Risk Management Plans: This includes overseeing issues related to Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and integrating regulatory changes into governance frameworks.
Identifying and Assessing Operational Risks: The intern will help identify operational risks within business processes and systems, facilitating risk assessments and testing to ensure regulatory compliance.
Investigating and Analyzing Issues: Supporting the investigation and root cause analysis of recurring issues, contributing to remediation and risk prevention. This includes tracking progress, validating resolutions, and communicating updates to stakeholders.
Monitoring and Reporting: Maintaining risk dashboards, monitoring KRIs, and compiling thematic risk reports to identify emerging trends and systemic risks.
Control Categorization and Mapping: Categorizing controls and mapping them against risks and processes to enhance risk management practices.
Root Cause Analysis and Process Improvement: Conducting root cause analyses to identify process vulnerabilities and documenting control design effectiveness. Monitoring implementation of process changes to ensure risk reduction and alignment with the organization’s risk appetite.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a master’s program in Finance, Economics, Business, Risk Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Interest in operational risk management, governance, issues management, and process risk reduction.
• Familiarity with financial services (advantageous, but not required).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analysis tools is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation: $38.45 to $87.00 hourly + sign-on bonus (Note: Actual pay will depend on location, experience, and other factors). Employment eligibility to work in the US is required; no visa sponsorship is offered for this position.
