Job Description: Summer Internship – Corporate Communications
This full-time, hybrid internship offers students the chance to experience life as a full-time employee, working on impactful, real-life assignments and projects that apply their skills and education. The Corporate Communications team at BNSF Railway manages internal and external communications, ensuring clear and consistent messaging across the organization. They also handle public relations, media relations, crisis communications, and employee engagement to support BNSF’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Writing: Write company news and feature articles for internal websites and other communication channels.
• Content Development: Support content development for employee mobile apps and social media outlets.
• Analytics: Assist with monitoring website statistics and social media usage using analytical tools.
• Graphic Design: Assist in graphic design for digital and print publications.
• Event Support: Support special events, recognition programs, and conduct research and fact-checking for company communications.
Qualifications:
Basic:
• Legally authorized to work in the United States and at least 18 years old upon hire.
• No sponsorship required for work authorization.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Communications, Journalism, or a similar program from an accredited university.
• Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA.
• Less than 3 years of professional work experience (excluding internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing a degree).
• Reliable transportation to and from the assigned BNSF location.
Preferred:
• Prior internship experience or less than 3 years of work experience in Communications or Journalism.
• Leadership experience in a campus, community, or extracurricular organization.
• Pursuing a degree in Communications or Journalism.

Note:
• This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, split between the office and remote work.
• Weekend or evening work may be required.
• Travel may be required.
• Relocation is required if located more than 50 miles from the location.
