Job Description: Summer Intern – AI Chatbot Development

Overview

This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and self-driven intern to independently lead an AI project. The core task involves developing an intelligent chatbot capable of answering engineer questions by leveraging various internal data sources such as wiki pages, SharePoint documents, and JIRA. This is an end-to-end, hands-on role encompassing design, development, and deployment. The project will primarily utilize Microsoft Azure’s AI and cloud tools. The intern will work independently with support from other team members and is expected to deliver a working prototype by the end of the internship.

Responsibilities

The intern will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the chatbot development:
Lead the design and development of a chatbot specifically engineered to query iLottery documents using natural language.
Implement a Retrieval-augmented Generation (RAG) Architecture by integrating several Azure services:
Azure OpenAI Service (GPT models) for natural language understanding and generation.
Azure AI Search for indexing and retrieving relevant content from source documents.
Azure Blob Storage for securely hosting the raw source documents.
Build the backend logic for the chatbot, preferably using Azure Functions or another suitable serverless approach.
Design a simple front-end interface for user interaction, which could be a web application or a bot interface.
Ensure basic access control for internal security, potentially utilizing Azure AD.
Run comprehensive tests and continuously improve chatbot quality based on the feedback received from testing.
Present the final working solution and accompanying documentation.

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated Starting Compensation: $22.50 per hour. The actual pay may vary based on factors like background, skills, experience, and work location, potentially being higher or lower.
