The New York Life Investments Summer Internship Program

This 10-week paid internship program, starting in June 2025, is designed for rising juniors and seniors who are looking to gain valuable experience and launch their careers. It offers positions at New York Life Investments Management and its boutique firms, Apogem Capital and MacKay Shields.

Opportunities by Firm:

New York Life Investments Management

Locations: New York City and Jersey City
Teams: Marketing, Product, Strategy, and Data & Technology.

Apogem Capital

Locations: New York, Chicago, and Richmond
Teams: Finance & Accounting, Tax, and Business Intelligence.
Focus: Credit underwriting, financial analysis, and portfolio management through on-the-job training and specialized projects.
Experience: Fast-paced, results-oriented organization.

MacKay Shields

Locations: New York, California, and New Jersey
Teams: Municipal Bond, High Yield, Fixed Income, and Marketing.
Focus: Helping clients meet their investment goals through high-quality products and exceptional service.

Responsibilities (May Vary Depending on Placement):

• Creating and participating in individual and/or group presentations.
• Partnering with internal stakeholders across marketing, sales, business intelligence, compliance, finance, legal, etc.
• Collaborating on new product marketing materials (blogs, webcasts, videos, brochures, presentations, flyers, digital representations).
• Synthesizing research/analyses and developing presentations for new product recommendations (PowerPoint or Word).
• Prioritizing and managing project execution for new product launches or modifications.
• Assisting with planning and coordinating conferences/seminars/meetings.
• Participating in operational work (updating databases, managing queues, inputting client requests).
• Conducting credit research, security analysis, industry/market research.
• Attending training and development seminars.
• Exposure to senior leadership, subject matter experts, networking opportunities, and social events.

Required Skills:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited 4-year university or college with an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027.
• Business, Finance or related major preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Technical, analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Prior internship experience or significant contributions to campus or community extracurricular activities.

At the End of the Summer:

Interns will be considered for a full-time offer to join the New York Life Investments Analyst Program upon graduation. This is a 2-year program that rotates between various business areas.
