Program Overview

The Summer Internship Program at Landmark Builders is specifically designed to immerse college students in the dynamic world of commercial construction, providing genuine hands-on experience. This program serves as an excellent foundation and the first crucial step toward a rewarding career path as a Project Manager or Project Superintendent within the industry.

Interns will benefit from a structured rotation, dividing their time between active construction sites and our home office, with the majority of time dedicated to field operations. You will work closely with and learn directly from experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel. This collaborative environment ensures you gain practical knowledge, develop technical expertise, and build confidence while contributing directly to real project work. Many of our former interns have successfully launched their careers at Landmark Builders, leveraging the skills and professional relationships cultivated through this program.

Key Responsibilities

As a Summer Intern, you will play a supportive role for project teams and gain valuable exposure to the full construction lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with daily construction reports, project documentation, and meticulous record-keeping.
• Participating in quantity takeoffs, pricing, and procurement of materials.
• Helping to prepare and implement two-week look-ahead schedules.
• Supporting weekly subcontractor progress meetings and owner/architect meetings, including accurately capturing meeting minutes as needed.
• Assisting in the submittal and RFI (Request for Information) processes.
• Contributing to quality control and safety inspections, ensuring strict compliance with Landmark Builders’ high standards.
• Performing occasional hands-on field work and general labor to gain a practical understanding of site operations.
• Maintaining open and clear communication with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure projects remain on track.

Qualifications

We are seeking motivated individuals with the following qualifications:

• Current enrollment in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related degree program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative mindset and an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
• Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) is a plus but not required.
• Ability to travel to local project sites as needed.
