Program Overview

The Summer Internship Program at Landmark Builders is meticulously designed to provide college students with hands-on experience in commercial construction. This program is recognized as the crucial first step toward a rewarding career as a Project Manager or Project Superintendent within the industry.

Interns will engage in a dynamic rotation, spending most of their time in the field on active construction sites, complemented by time in our home office. You will work closely with and learn from experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel. This immersive experience is tailored to help you gain practical knowledge, technical expertise, and confidence while making meaningful contributions to real project work.

Notably, many of our former interns have successfully launched their full-time careers at Landmark Builders, leveraging the skills and relationships cultivated through this program.

Key Responsibilities

As a Summer Intern, you will actively support project teams and gain extensive exposure to the full construction lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with daily construction reports, project documentation, and meticulous record-keeping.
• Participating in quantity takeoffs, pricing exercises, and the procurement of necessary materials.
• Helping to prepare and implement critical two-week look-ahead schedules.
• Supporting weekly subcontractor progress meetings and owner/architect meetings, including accurately capturing meeting minutes as required.
• Assisting in the comprehensive submittal and RFI (Request for Information) processes.
• Contributing to crucial quality control and safety inspections, ensuring strict compliance with Landmark Builders’ high standards.
• Performing occasional hands-on field work and general labor to gain a practical understanding of site operations.
• Maintaining open and effective communication with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and other team members to keep projects consistently on track.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related degree program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative mindset and a genuine willingness to learn in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Proven problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) is a plus but not strictly required.
• Ability to travel to local project sites as needed, requiring reliable transportation.
