Global Strategy Group (GSG) – 2026 Summer Internship

Global Strategy Group (GSG) is excited to announce the opening of applications for our 2026 Summer Internship program within our Communications & Public Affairs practice. We are seeking highly motivated rising college seniors and recent graduates eager to gain hands-on experience in a bustling agency environment.

About the Internship

This internship offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of strategic communications, crisis communications, brand & message development, and grassroots campaigns. You will learn the ins and outs of agency life, contribute valuable work to the team, and work closely with the entire Communications & Public Affairs team on a variety of tasks, projects, and presentations. We are looking for individuals who are open-minded, ambitious, and professional, demonstrating excellent communication skills, creativity, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

As a GSG Intern, you will be involved in a range of activities, including:

• Preparing written materials for advocacy campaigns and grassroots logistics, such as:
• Database maintenance
• Press releases
• FAQ sheets
• Draft letters
• Statements
• Memos
• Closely monitoring news events, compiling press lists, and performing background research for current and potential clients.
• Covering press events and public hearings (e.g., community board meetings), and assisting in public event coordination.
• Helping manage canvassing and direct community outreach efforts.
• Assisting with digital advertising and social media campaigns.

Internship Details & Logistics

Duration: June through mid- to late August 2026.
Commitment: Full-time (40 hours/week).
Location: Hybrid role with an in-person component in either our New York City or Washington, D.C. office.
Compensation: $20/hour.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Motivated & Responsible: A natural self-starter who can execute strong work with minimal direction.
Excellent Skills: Strong writing, research, and communication skills, in addition to general office administrative skills, with the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, operating in an Outlook & PC environment.
Social Media Savvy: Familiarity with social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other cutting-edge outlets, along with a sense of best practices within these spaces.
Strong Work Ethic: A high level of professionalism.
Communication Confidence: Comfortable talking on the phone with vendors, colleagues, media, and community stakeholders; ready to reach out to strangers and effectively convey messages.
Eligibility: A rising senior or recent graduate.

Bonus Qualifications (Not Required, but a Plus!)

• Knowledge of media & politics.
• Familiarity with social media monitoring and media database tools.
• Photoshop or design skills.
