This is a Summer Internship opportunity for students at HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding.

Internship Details:
• Purpose: The internships allow students to gain experience in either technical or administrative positions, providing an opportunity to apply their field of study and understand the company’s business operations.
• Potential for Future Employment: This opportunity could potentially lead to future full-time employment, but it is not guaranteed.
• Duration: Interns will work 40 hours a week for 10 consecutive weeks during the summer months.
• Assignments: Interns will work on a variety of assignments related to their major.
• Majors Accepted: Newport News Shipbuilding is specifically offering 2026 Summer Internships to students majoring in:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Programs in Business
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Programs in Accounting
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Programs in Finance
Requirements (“Must Have” Qualifications):
• Enrollment: Must be enrolled in a 4-year college/university (or 2+2 program) or a master’s degree program for Fall 2026.
• GPA: A minimum GPA of 2.5 or greater.
• Transcripts: Unofficial transcripts are required when applying. Failure to upload transcripts at the time of application will result in automatic disqualification.
Physical Requirements (for some positions):
• Some engineering, technical, and waterfront positions may require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites.
• This includes sites aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul.
• Tasks may involve the use of vertical and inclined ladders, and may involve limited kneeling, stooping, standing, etc.
