Summer Internship Program at Santander CIB

Santander CIB offers a 10-week summer internship program beginning in June 2025, offering a comprehensive experience in the investment banking business. The program emphasizes two key pillars: practice and teamwork. It’s designed for undergraduate students in a four-year program who have an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and May 2026.

Interns will be based in New York (NY), Los Angeles, or San Francisco (CA) and will become part of an international business working with teams across different geographies.

Investment Banking Team

The internship program offers the opportunity to join the Investment Banking (IB) team, which provides global advice to corporate clients, supporting them in achieving their strategic goals. Whether it’s raising capital for expansion or buying another company, investment bankers offer innovative and creative financial solutions tailored to individual clients’ needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop long-term relationships with clients and craft strategies to help them grow and innovate.
• Provide sound advice, offer access to funding, and execute transactions.
• Help clients manage risks in today’s complex environment.
• Work across teams to bring comprehensive solutions to clients’ challenges.

What You’ll Learn:

The internship program will equip you with the skills and experience to become a thoughtful, strategic advisor. You’ll learn:

Client service: How to build long-term relationships by prioritizing client needs.
Technical acumen: Develop the technical skills to launch a career in banking.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate student in a four-year program with an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and May 2026.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.
• Highly motivated and results-oriented with a desire to exceed expectations.
• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and courage in their leadership style.
• Strong communication skills: Ability to express facts and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing, interacting professionally, transparently, and effectively with people at all levels.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken). Foreign language skills are a plus.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Strong critical thinking with the ability to develop solutions to complex challenges.
• Ability to multi-task as required.
• Ability to work independently on special projects.
• Ability to effectively contribute in a team environment.

Compensation:

NYC Job Applicants: Base hourly pay range of $52.88/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and location.
California Job Applicants: Base hourly pay range of $52.88/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and location.
