World Internship Program
Duration: 10 weeks
Goal: Develop a pool of talented professionals for future employment after graduation.
Focus: Gaining an understanding of the insurance industry, including:
• Distribution models for insurance products.
• Brokerage cycle: identifying and marketing risks, building service timelines, implementing service requests, and managing renewals.
Placement: Interns are assigned to one of the following departments:
• Commercial Lines: Deals with insurance needs of businesses.
• Personal Lines: Focuses on insurance for individuals and families.
• Surety Placement: Handles the placement of surety bonds for various purposes.
• Claims: Manages insurance claims and settlements.
Internship Responsibilities
• Team Support: Contribute to the timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks, working alongside experienced professionals.
• Learning & Development: Gain insight into how World helps clients protect themselves from risks and improve financial performance.
• Career Building: Develop a foundation for a career in the insurance industry with a growing team.
• Skill Enhancement: Build valuable skills in:
• Creating and presenting business proposals.
• Understanding risk management.
• Developing time management strategies.
• Client & Team Interaction: Foster positive relationships through excellent service and professional communication.
Internship Program Components
• Daily Work: Interns contribute to ongoing projects and tasks assigned by their managers.
• Orientation: Comprehensive orientation at the Iselin, New Jersey headquarters.
• Speaker Presentations & Town Halls: Hear from executive leadership on World’s strategy, operations, and key priorities.
• monthly Webinars: Learn from the CEO and COO about World’s business model and strategy.
• Online Program: Self-paced online program provided by the Council for Insurance Agents and Brokers.
• Networking Events: Opportunities to build connections with other interns and professionals.
• Volunteer Opportunities: Engage in community service activities.
• Social Events: Fun events to foster camaraderie and build relationships.
• Developmental Workshops: Workshops designed to enhance skills and knowledge.
Internship Qualifications
• Education: Enrolled in a business program at an accredited university or college, graduating in May 2026 or December 2025. Graduates and students in Insurance and Risk Management programs are preferred.
• Work Availability: Must be willing to work onsite Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. Remote internships are not offered.
• Experience: Prior customer support experience is preferred.
• Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Self-motivation and drive.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
