Job Description: Summer Impact Marketing (Adult Imprints) Internship
This is a paid, in-person internship (10 weeks, 24 hours/week, 3 days/week) at Sourcebooks’ New York, NY office within the Impact Marketing Department, working with the Adult Fiction and Adult Nonfiction imprints (Bloom Books, Poisoned Pen Press, Casablanca, Landmark, Cosmo Reads, and Sourcebooks Trade).
The internship focuses on building awareness for authors and their books. Responsibilities include:
• Market Research: Identifying target audiences and contributing creative promotional ideas.
• Marketing Materials Creation: Supporting the development of press releases, book descriptions, social media posts, and digital ads.
• Marketing Campaign Execution: Assisting in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns, including social media strategies and influencer outreach.
• Media Outreach: Building and updating press lists, tracking media coverage, and cultivating relationships with reviewers and influencers.
• Event Planning & Execution: Supporting the planning and execution of book tours, virtual events, and author signings.
The internship will provide hands-on experience in a growing book publishing company, teaching various communication styles and strategies for internal and external audiences. A key focus is storytelling – communicating Sourcebooks’ story and “Books Change Lives” mission. Interns will learn to refine messaging, engage audiences, and understand brand values. The ideal candidate is a book lover eager to learn and contribute to the world of books.
