This is a summer college internship position with the New York City Department of Veterans’ Services (DVS).

About DVS:

The Department of Veterans’ Services (DVS) mission is to connect, mobilize, and empower New York City’s Veteran Community to foster purpose-driven lives for New York City Service Members – past and present – in addition to their caregivers, survivors, and families. DVS provides New York City’s approximately 200,000 Veterans with essential services and programs focused on areas such as economic empowerment, housing security, benefits, health and wellness, and culture.

About The Role (Summer College Intern):

DVS is seeking motivated and detail-oriented college interns to assist with general administrative tasks and community outreach initiatives during the summer (June-September). The interns will support day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with filing, data entry, and record keeping
• Schedule appointments and coordinate meeting logistics
• Support event preparation, including materials and logistics
• Assist in planning and executing outreach events and activities
• Help prepare outreach materials
• Collect and compile feedback from outreach activities to help improve programs and services
• Participate in community engagement efforts to connect with local veterans and organizations

Qualifications:

• Must be a student matriculated in a college or a recent college graduate (winter/spring term) as of June of the Program year.
• The appointment is valid only for the duration of the Program, June – August each year.
