Job Description:

This is a summer college internship with the Department of Veterans’ Services (DVS), a New York City agency. DVS aims to connect, mobilize, and empower NYC’s veteran community by providing essential services and programs focused on economic empowerment, housing security, benefits, health and wellness, and culture.

The Summer College Intern will assist with general administrative tasks and community outreach initiatives. The internship runs between June and September.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with filing, data entry, and record keeping.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate meeting logistics.
• Support event preparation, including materials and logistics.
• Assist in planning and executing outreach events and activities.
• Help prepare outreach materials.
• Collect and compile feedback from outreach activities to help improve programs and services.
• Participate in community engagement efforts to connect with local veterans and organizations.

Qualifications:

• Must be a student matriculated in a college or a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year) as of June of the Program year.

Important Note: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June – August each year.

Salary:

• $16.50 to $19.00 per hour.
