About the Company:
The Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH) is the nation’s largest administrative tribunal, handling approximately 400,000 trials and hearings annually. As New York City’s central, independent administrative law court, OATH adjudicates a wide range of matters from nearly every city agency, board, and commission. OATH also includes the Center for Creative Conflict Resolution (offering mediation and restorative justice services) and the Administrative Judicial Institute (providing training, education, research, and support for administrative law judges and hearing officers).
Job Description: Summer College Intern – Human Resources Recruitment and Employee Services
OATH seeks a Summer College Intern to provide administrative support to its Human Resources Recruitment and Employee Services team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Recruitment and Employee Services and the Recruitment Manager, the intern will assist with the recruitment processing cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
• Updating tracking documents.
• Scheduling in-person appointments for candidates to process paperwork.
• Organizing and reviewing candidate paperwork.
• Assisting with Traveling Personnel Folders (TPFs).
• Providing support during civil service hiring pools.
• Assisting OATH employees with HR-related inquiries (e.g., health benefits, employment verifications).
Experience Gained: The internship offers valuable experience in employee onboarding, employee services, and various HR operations common across many organizations. Interns will also gain exposure to the specific HR policies of the City of New York.
Work Requirements: In-person reporting is required. The internship runs for 10 weeks (June 2, 2025 – August 8, 2025), with a minimum of 28 hours and a maximum of 35 hours per week. New York City residency is not required, but commuting to the office is necessary.
