Job Description: Applied Scientist Intern
This internship provides an opportunity for PhD students and recent graduates in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields with a specialization in Machine Learning to contribute to Amazon’s groundbreaking work in the field. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary team of researchers, tackling complex problems, and developing innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Leverage existing research: Apply state-of-the-art Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, Computer Vision algorithms, and Recommender Systems to solve real-world problems.
• Develop novel solutions: Come up with original approaches and build prototypes using your own out-of-the-box thinking.
• Deliver to production: Potentially contribute to the development of customer-facing applications and products.
Qualifications:
• Basic Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, with specialization in Machine Learning.
• Experience in computer vision, recommender systems, deep learning, NLP, or related fields is preferred.
• Strong programming skills are essential, and a working knowledge of Python is preferable.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Research experience in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, or broader Machine Learning.
• Publications in top-tier conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AISTATS, ACL, NAACL and EMNLP.
Location: You’ll be working at the closest Amazon office to your location (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane).
Duration: Internships start monthly and last 6 months.
