About the Internship Program

The Summer Analyst/Associate Internship program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of CRA’s business and hands-on experience with project work. This 8-10 week program mirrors the full-time analyst experience, allowing interns to work alongside senior colleagues on live client consulting projects within a specific practice area. Interns will benefit from:

Key Responsibilities

During the Economics Consulting Analyst/Associate Internship program, interns may work on various aspects of a project, including:

• Conducting economic and industry research to understand case issues.
• Performing financial and economic analyses or creating valuation models.
• Programming, building models, and performing regression analyses using languages such as Excel, Stata, R, Python, SQL, or SAS.
• Developing familiarity with data sources for analyses.
• Reviewing and summarizing analyst reports, client documents, and industry trade press.
• Assisting in the production of research summaries, expert reports, and findings presentations.
• Ensuring reliability of analysis through quality control review.

Practices Seeking Candidates & Locations

Interns will be placed within one of the following specialized practices:

Antitrust & Competition – China Focus:
Location: Oakland, CA
Focus: Providing economic analysis and testimony in matters involving mergers and acquisitions, antitrust litigation, and global competition policy.
Requirement: Mandarin language fluency is required for this specific focus, as projects necessitate fluency in economic analysis and business settings.

Labor & Employment:
Location: College Station, TX
Focus: Delivering in-depth analysis, expert reports, testimony, and advisory services for complex labor and employment issues such as wage and hour litigation and pay equity disputes.

Life Sciences:
Locations: Boston, MA; Washington, DC
Focus: Providing industry-leading economic analysis and testimony for litigation and arbitration engagements worldwide within the life sciences sector. No prior life sciences knowledge is required.

Desired Qualifications

CRA seeks highly qualified individuals with a strong quantitative background:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree candidates graduating December 2026/Summer 2027 with an academic focus on quantitative research (Economics, Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields).
Research Experience: Completion of an honors thesis, research apprenticeship, or research seminar program is highly desired.
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to explain, economic, financial and/or accounting concepts, and quantitative and qualitative analysis methods.
Technical Proficiency: Experience in Excel, Stata, Python, R, SQL, SAS, ArcGIS/ArcPy, or Cloud computing (Databricks/Spark, Google Cloud, Azure, AWS).
Problem-Solving: Curious and analytical thinkers who bring creative approaches to non-standard problems.
Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills.
Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn new skills and programming languages.
Initiative & Leadership: Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership.
Teamwork: Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
Organization: Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
Interest in Consulting: Clear and demonstrated interest in consulting through coursework, work experience, activities, or attendance at CRA recruiting events.
Mandarin Fluency (for China Competition projects): Additional interviews will evaluate written (Simple Chinese), verbal, and comprehension of Mandarin language fluency in economic analysis and business settings.

Work Location Flexibility

CRA promotes a hybrid work environment, recognizing the benefits of both in-office collaboration and periodic remote work. Individuals are currently asked to spend 3 to 4 days a week on average working in the office, with specific days determined in coordination with their practice or team.

Estimated Wage Range (California & Washington DC)

For individuals applying to work in CRA’s California and Washington D.C. offices, a good-faith estimate of the base wage range for this role is $30 – $37.50 per hour. Actual total compensation may also include benefits and bonus, considering factors such as experience, education level, and expertise.
