About Citi’s Commercial Bank
Citi’s Commercial Bank (CCB) is a division dedicated to serving businesses with annual sales ranging from $10 million to over $3 billion. The CCB team focuses on helping clients maximize their growth by leveraging Citi’s comprehensive suite of banking products, including deposit and lending services, cash management, trade, foreign exchange (FX), and capital markets solutions.
The Summer Analyst Program within CCB aims to attract top talent and nurture them into future commercial banking leaders. The program provides hands-on experience and mentorship to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the field.
Summer Analyst Program Description
As a Summer Analyst, you will join a Coverage team and work directly with Relationship Managers, managing a portfolio of clients and collaborating with teams across the firm. You will serve as a thought partner to clients, working closely to deliver the full range of Citi’s solutions to help them fund operations and expand locally and internationally.
Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting company research and industry analysis
• Analyzing financial data and performing financial modeling (including company valuations, discounted cash flow analysis, and pro-forma analyses)
• Supporting the commercial lending process, encompassing secured and unsecured revolving lines of credit, term loans, syndicated loans, leveraged loans, and cross-border loans
• Partnering with Bankers and Product teams to identify and leverage appropriate products to meet client goals
• Playing a vital role in deal management and client presentation preparation, including creating business development presentations, pitch books, prospect memos, and client-related decks
• Collaborating with partners across various departments, including product, credit risk, in-business controls, legal, marketing, operations, risk, compliance, and technology teams
The 10-week program starts in June and includes:
• In-depth training combined with hands-on experience to help you quickly adapt to your role and Citi’s culture.
• Ongoing training in sales, credit, products, technology, and professional skills.
• Robust junior and senior mentorship structures for professional development.
By the end of the program, you will have a strong understanding of:
• The CCB target market, value proposition, and client coverage model.
• How bankers interact with clients and identify their needs.
• The various credit product types and their suitability for client needs.
• The commercial loan underwriting process, including loan structuring and documentation.
• The end-to-end credit process, encompassing new origination and monitoring of an assigned credit portfolio.
• Engaging with clients, prospects, and key influencers.
• Citi’s credit and regulatory policies and procedures.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is:
• Dynamic and passionate about client-facing roles and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve goals.
• Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Majoring in Finance or Accounting, with potential experience in Financial Services through clubs or internships.
• On track to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in winter 2024 or spring 2025.
• Has a preferred GPA of 3.3 or above.
• Proficient in MS Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Does not require sponsorship for U.S. Work Authorization now or in the future.
