Financial Lines Claims Intern | QBE North America

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at QBE North America, located in Chicago, IL or New York, NY. • Team: Supports the Financial Lines Claims teams
• Mission: To learn the fundamental claims process from intake to resolution within an international insurance company setting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Learn: Learn the complete claims process, from initial intake through final resolution, under the direct guidance of a Claims Specialist.
• Review: Review and become familiar with applicable insurance policies, understanding their contractual terms and the coverage they provide.
• Collaborate: Collaborate effectively with various internal business partners, including actuaries, underwriters, legal teams, and litigation management.
• Accompany: Accompany Claims Specialists in both internal discussions and external meetings relevant to ongoing claims.
• Participate: Attend and actively participate in educational training sessions designed to enhance industry knowledge and professional skills.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrollment at a 4-year accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience acquired through extracurricular activities, community service, or prior work experience.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Communication, Critical Thinking, Time Management, Research Analysis.
