Job Description

Summer 2026 Technology Audit Internship – Remote

This is a 10.5-week Enterprise Internship program offered by KeyBank, providing meaningful work, feedback, and coaching to interns. The program aims to create engaging events and conversations to spark interest in a full-time career at KeyBank. Interns will be involved in line-of-business-specific projects that directly impact Key’s business and strategic pillars. The program includes networking opportunities with Key teammates across all organizational levels, a series of Learning Labs featuring internal and external speakers on topics like Key’s competitive landscape, financial wellness, and professional development, and an assigned mentor to share knowledge and advice.

About The Internal Audit Internship Program

As an Internal Audit Technology Intern, you will gain practical experience by working on various technology audits. You will collaborate closely with seasoned professionals, developing your skills as both an auditor and a technology professional, while receiving direct coaching and feedback. The internship offers exposure to various lines of business across Key and opportunities to interact with their leaders. Potential placement areas for Technology Internal Audit Interns include Information Security, Technology Services, Applications Audit, Project Audit, or IT General Controls.

The Internal Audit function operates in a remote work environment, with team members located in over 20 states. This internship will be performed in a virtual environment. However, if an intern is located near Buffalo, NY, or Cleveland, OH, there may be an option to occasionally work in an office setting. Based on performance, interns may be offered a full-time position as a Rotational Analyst with Internal Audit upon graduation.

Job Responsibilities

Staffed on one or two technology audits, providing insight into all phases of an audit (planning, fieldwork, and reporting), and learning about various parts of the organization.
• Work assignments each week will be based on the current reviews in process on your assigned team, following an annual Audit Plan.
Perform research to understand the technology risks associated with the audit.
• Typically work 8-hour days, with interns not expected to exceed 40 hours/week.
Attend audit-specific training and enterprise-wide Learning Labs.
Network with other Internal Audit Interns and members of Internal Audit’s Senior Leadership Team.
• The internship culminates with a Spotlight presentation to the Senior Leadership Team and Managers in Internal Audit, highlighting your internship experience.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least three years toward a four-year, undergraduate degree program.
• Coursework in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Project management, or other business or technology-related degrees.
Anticipated graduation date in or before May 2027.
Outstanding academic achievement with a minimum undergraduate 3.25 GPA.
Demonstrated leadership and teamwork from past work experience and/or extracurricular activities.
Strong interest in technology.
Solid analytical, problem-solving, communication (oral & written), and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Compensation and Benefits

• This position offers an hourly rate of $23 per hour.
• Compensation also includes a $2,000 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus.
Important Note: KeyBank’s Internship and Analyst positions are not eligible for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B visa). This includes situations where a candidate may have temporary work authorization while enrolled in school or upon graduation (e.g., CPT, OPT) but would require H-1B visa sponsorship within a few years to maintain employment eligibility.
