Upcoming Spin-off: Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company, ‘Versant’, expected to be completed during 2025. Versant will comprise most of NBCUniversal’s cable television networks (including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Golf Channel) along with complementary digital assets such as Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. Program Overview:
NBCUniversal is seeking curious and passionate trailblazers who embody the future of the industry. Interns are expected to bring their passion for media, entertainment, and technology, coupled with a strong desire to learn.

Compensation & Benefits:

Summer 2026 Internship Program Details:

Areas of Placement (Finance-focused, primarily in Universal City, CA):

Interns will be placed within various divisions and teams, including:

Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG): Focuses on producing, acquiring, marketing, and distributing filmed entertainment globally across various media formats. Interns support a division with a global presence, committed to diverse storytelling.
Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E): Drives global brand expansion and elevation of NBCUniversal’s IP through physical and digital products, retail experiences in theme parks, location-based venues, e-commerce, and global brand strategy. This division includes Consumer Products, Games and Digital Platforms, and Theme Parks Products & Retail.
Media Group: Supports consumer-first brands like Peacock, NBC, Bravo, NBC Sports, and NBCU International, focusing on innovation, growth, and consumer experience, fostering a culture of respect and authenticity.

Specific finance and related roles may include:

Global Distribution Controllership: Assist with monthly/quarterly close processes, financial audits, SOX compliance, customer audits, and monthly reporting to third parties.
International Finance: Integral part of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, involved in sales/revenue forecasting, developing/reviewing revenue budgets across 100+ territories, creating deal analysis/financial models, and providing market insights.
Production Finance: Support the NBCU Studio Group, overseeing Film & TV content development, production, marketing/distribution. The team is responsible for financial consolidation, reporting, and analysis for Film & TV studios.
Film Finance: Support the team responsible for overall consolidation and financial planning & analysis of the Film Studio’s financials, including annual budget, long-range planning, monthly forecast, and close processes.
Film & TV Cost Controllership: Support the Film studios team in accounting for all indirect business costs, such as compensation, rent, insurance, and enterprise costs (e.g., systems).
Universal Products & Experiences FP&A: Key contributor to the Global Consumer Products FP&A team, primarily supporting various financial processes and ad hoc tasks during forecasting cycles.
Universal Products & Experiences Strategy & Business Development: Supports and advises the global consumer products licensing and parks merchandise/retail teams. Responsibilities may include in-depth research on industry trends, competitive landscapes, emerging technologies, consumer behavior in retail; analyzing market data; assisting in strategic projects (market entry, product expansion, operational efficiency); supporting financial modeling and quantitative analysis; and contributing to partnership/new business evaluations.
USG TV Production Finance: Manage digital records archiving for assigned series, support document preparation for scanning, reconcile scan batches, complete daily ad hoc projects (ledger inquiry, analysis, forensic accounting, p-card management, invoice processing, check printing), and update/distribute weekly production tracking spreadsheets.
USG FP&A: Work on Monthly Pacings/Forecasts by pulling reports from the Finance database (BPC SMART) for variance analysis (OCF & FCF), including Content Delivery & Airing Schedule Analysis. Also work on 13-Week Forecasts, 3rd Party Collections Reconciliation, and assist the Development Finance Assist team in tracking development projects. This role requires proactivity, adaptability, and teamwork due to regular interaction with TV Distribution, Home Ent, and Studios/Corporate finance partners.
DTC (Peacock) Revenue & Digital Integrations: Support the development and implementation of revenue-generating sponsorship campaigns across Peacock, TV Everywhere, and social media platforms. Report to the Sr. Manager, Digital Integrations, and collaborate with Ad Sales, Consumer Marketing, Platform Editorial, Product, Video Operations, and social media teams to implement campaigns, secure revenue, and maximize performance. This role is ideal for students interested in project management, advertising sales, content monetization, streaming revenue, and operations.

Basic Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (Spring 2026 graduates are not eligible for Summer 2026).
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (minimum 30 credits).
• Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future. Candidates currently on student or exchange visas (e.g., F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible unless they can change/adjust to another status granting work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week from June 1 – August 7, 2026.
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
• NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company; all employees require an active Social Security number. Any intern offer recipient must complete the I-9 form with a Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

Desired Characteristics:
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Students pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
• Previous internship or work experience within finance, accounting, and/or data preferred.
• Strong interest in the media industry.
• Ability to multitask and highly organized.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
