Job Title: Summer 2026 Internal Events Intern

Internship Purpose:
The Internal Events team at Earthjustice is seeking an undergraduate student who shares a passion for justice and a healthy environment to support the planning of the organization’s October 2026 Litigation Training Conference. This will be a significant 400-person, multi-day, in-person event for Earthjustice’s litigation teams.

Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do):
Under the supervision of the Internal Events Planner, the intern will:

  • Support the design and logistics of various in-person and hybrid activities, including:
    • Networking events
    • Giving-back and fundraising initiatives
    • Wellness and recreational activities
  • Collect presentation materials from speakers.
  • Answer event attendees’ questions.
  • Track inventory and expenses related to the event.
  • Schedule and coordinate volunteers.
  • Identify and coordinate with a range of vendors, such as:
    • Caterers
    • DJs (e.g., for karaoke)
    • Massage therapists or other wellness vendors
    • The event venue
  • Draft various communications, including:
    • Information about wellness programs
    • Accessibility details
    • In-app notifications

Internship Details:

  • Duration: 12 weeks, between early-June through early-September 2026.
  • Work Schedule: Ideally 22.5-37.5 hours/week. The schedule may be shifted if classes start before the internship ends.
  • Location:
    • Remote: From anywhere in the U.S.
    • Hybrid: From Earthjustice’s San Francisco, CA office.
  • Supervision: The intern will be supervised by the Internal Events Planner.

Qualifications (What You’ll Bring):

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a college/university program (must be an undergraduate student during spring 2026 and fall 2026).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Working knowledge of online research.
    • Proficiency in MS Office programs.
  • Key Attributes:
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Great interpersonal skills, including:
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
      • Good listening abilities.
      • Ability to troubleshoot issues.
    • Enjoys learning and working in team settings.
    • Demonstrated commitment to Earthjustice’s core values of Justice, Excellence, Inclusion, and Partnership.

Physical Requirements:
This role may require the ability to:

  • Sit for extended periods with occasional standing and walking.
  • Type, file, and/or handle office equipment.
  • Lift and carry materials.
  • Read documents, conduct computer work, and perform document review.

Compensation:
Interns at Earthjustice receive an hourly rate which is considered taxable income. The summer 2026 hourly rate for undergraduate students is $19.18.
