Department Description – Public Sector:
This role is with Salesforce’s Solution Engineering, Public Sector team. This department empowers individuals to solve the most complex business problems facing Government agencies, Universities, and Nonprofits. By leveraging Slack as the WorkOS alongside the Salesforce platform, the team helps these mission-driven organizations break down silos, move faster, and drive meaningful change in their communities. Examples include helping federal agencies coordinate emergency responses, enabling nonprofits to streamline fundraising, or assisting universities in creating connected campuses.
Role Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of solution selling at one of the most innovative software companies. The Solution Engineer, Public Sector Intern will be responsible for gaining a strong understanding of the Slack & Salesforce platform to help customers leverage technology to solve their most important business challenges. To succeed, the Solution Engineer must be eager to learn at a rapid pace and combine technical expertise, business acumen, and creativity to add significant value to the Solution Engineering team.
Your Impact (Responsibilities):
- Meet and interview individuals from Solution Engineering and supporting departments to understand how the organization is structured and collaborates.
- Complete product training certifications.
- Create and present customized demo components.
- Assist in customer-facing sales cycles.
- Create public-facing content.
Minimum Requirements:
- A current rising Junior/rising Senior, graduating in December 2026 or Spring 2027.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a preferred concentration in Computer Science / Information Systems or equivalent. A minor in a technical subject is also considered.
- A strong business and technical background.
- Strong communication, networking, and presenting skills.
- Preferred prior working experience (can include part-time or over school breaks).
- Adaptable to change and enjoys learning in a fast-paced environment.
- Long-term interest in a Solution Engineering role.
