Privacy Innovation (PI) Lab Internship

The Privacy Innovation (PI) Lab at TikTok is dedicated to exploring the future of privacy technology and theory in the digital world. The team provides crucial insights and technical solutions to ensure privacy-focused innovation across all TikTok products. They also collaborate with global technical and academic communities to build a more privacy-friendly digital experience.

This internship offers students a chance to gain hands-on experience and industry exposure. It’s a 12-week program beginning in May/June 2025, with start dates on:

• Monday, May 12
• Monday, May 19
• Tuesday May 27 (Memorial Day May 26)
• Monday, June 9
• Monday, June 23

Responsibilities:

• Build new features: Contribute to features that impact hundreds of millions of users worldwide.
• Solve complex technical problems: Tackle unique, large-scale, and highly complex technical challenges.
• Participate in technical discussions: Engage in discussions related to the team’s product and engineering work.

Currently pursuings:

Minimum Currently pursuings:

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Committed to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2025.
• Experience with Javascript, Typescript, HTML etc.
• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Currently pursuings:

• Graduating December 2025 onwards with the intent to return to a degree program after the internship.
• Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internships, work experience, or coding competitions.
• High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.

Compensation:

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $45- $60. TikTok offers 100% premium coverage for Full-Time intern medical insurance after 90 days from the date of hire. Other benefits include:
