Social Interaction Team Internship
The Social Interaction team at TikTok focuses on building a reliable and adaptable platform that allows users to seamlessly connect with real-life friends. They develop features that encourage sharing life moments and staying connected, no matter the distance. Core features developed and maintained by this team include:

Internship Description
This 12-week internship program, beginning in May/June 2025, aims to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths within software development. Interns will have the opportunity to:
• Develop business-critical systems and features: Contribute to building the foundation of TikTok’s social experiences.
• Improve system design and architecture: Enhance the stability and performance of TikTok’s services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work alongside diverse teams in a fast-paced product development environment.
• Promote robust and maintainable code: Deliver high-quality work, ensuring clear documentation and adhering to tight deadlines.
Internship Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Graduate/Master/PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2025.
• Proficient in at least one of the following languages: Go, Java, C++, Python.
• Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduating December 2025 onwards, with the intent to return to their degree program after the internship.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Compensation and Benefits
• Hourly rate range for this position: $45-$60.
• 100% premium coverage for Full-Time intern medical insurance after 90 days from the date of hire.
