Job Description: Software Engineer
Team: Ratings Commercial Engineering
Location: New York, New York
Grade Level: 05 (Internal Use)

We strive to enhance client engagement with S&P Global Ratings, promoting an open, collaborative, and learning environment to deliver the best user experience. Our team leverages technology and data science to provide insights, software, and data that empower customers to make informed decisions, driving growth, performance, and efficiency.
Responsibilities and Impact:
• Collaborate with teammates during technical designs
• Help size and groom Agile stories
• Learn and adopt SAFE software development practices
• Collaborate with colleagues in design, product management, and systems architecture to develop solutions and bring new ideas to life
• Participate in team code reviews and trainings
• Demo completed work to stakeholders
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Candidates Only):
• Anticipated base salary range: $20 to $30
• Final base salary will be based on individual’s geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
• This role is not eligible for additional compensation like an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
Basic Required Qualifications:
• Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field of study associated with Software Engineering, completed by May 2025
• Demonstrated passion or interest in one or more of S&P Global’s key industries
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
• Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn new things, techniques, and technologies
• Ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
• Basic knowledge of web technologies like HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery, React
• Basic understanding of RESTful web services
• In-depth knowledge of code versioning tools like Git
• Understanding of building tools (Maven, and Gradle)
