Job Description: Summer 2025 Remote Internship
Macmillan Publishers offers paid, full-time, remote internships for Summer 2025. Locally based interns may choose to work in the office if desired. Internship opportunities span various departments, including:
• Editorial
• Marketing
• Publicity
• Art & Design
• Sales
• Managing/Production Editorial
• Production
• Publishing Operations
• Subrights
• Creative Services
• Author Events
Internship Responsibilities:
Interns will gain a foundational understanding of their department’s structure and role within the publishing house. Responsibilities include:
• Participating in job-related assignments.
• Gaining practical work experience.
• Networking with employees across departments (virtually).
Intern Project:
All interns participate in a company-wide project. In teams of 6-9, interns will develop a plan and presentation addressing a current publishing-related topic or business issue. This involves workshops led by Macmillan employees and mentorship from an assigned employee. Final presentations occur in early August. The project begins the second week of the internship (June 9th).
Program Details:
• hourly Rate: $16.50/hour
• Hours: No more than 40 hours per week.
• Dates: June 2nd, 2025 – August 22nd, 2025 (with potential flexibility).
• Eligibility: High school graduates over 18, eligible to work in the U.S., and aspiring to a publishing career. Candidates from underrepresented groups (BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, veterans, people with disabilities) are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Location: Remote; applicants must reside in the U.S. for the internship duration. Visas are not sponsored. The internship is a temporary contracted position through Headway Workforce Solutions, LLC.
