Internship Summary

The Summer 2025 – Real Estate Investment Rotational and Legal Internship is a 10-week program designed to provide hands-on experience and industry knowledge in real estate investment. The internship is based in the HGI office at the 51W52 building and includes participation in the 2025 Capstone Project and the Future Housing Leaders program.

Interns will benefit from educational aspects, including:

Internship Departments

# Rotational Program (Real Estate Investment)

This program provides a comprehensive understanding of the real estate transaction lifecycle, encompassing:

• Market research.
• KPI analysis.
• Financial modeling.
• Hands-on daily deliverables and project deadlines.

The 5-week rotation allows interns to gain cross-functional experience in:

• Investor Relations.
• Investment Management.
• Asset Management.
• Transactions and Acquisitions.

# Legal

This internship is ideal for first or second-year law students. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and financings.
• Reviewing and drafting non-disclosure agreements, corporate governance documents, vendor agreements, and other legal documents.
• Interfacing with other departments like Transactions, Asset Management, and Human Resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The internship focuses on developing key skills for a successful career in real estate investment:

• Business, financial, and analytical skills.
• Supporting due diligence and underwriting for new acquisitions.
• Reviewing financial and operating statements, third-party reports, and real estate market information.
• Conducting market research on real estate transactions, supply, demand, and market trends.
• Assisting with the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and special investor reports.
• Researching, analyzing, and presenting materials to the Investor Relations team.
• Contributing to the preparation of annual conference materials, pitchbooks, and performance reports.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited degree program.
• Be available for a 10-week internship commitment from June to August.
• Be willing to travel for the Kick-Off and Capstone events.
• Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Possess strong attention to detail, follow-up skills, and project management abilities.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (preferred).
• Have relevant experience in real estate (internships preferred).
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
