About TikTok US Data Security (USDS):
TikTok US Data Security (USDS) is a subsidiary of TikTok created to enhance data protection and content assurance for U.S. users. Its mission is to provide oversight and protection of the TikTok platform and U.S. user data. USDS comprises teams across various departments including Trust & Safety, Security & Privacy, Engineering, User & Product Ops, and Corporate Functions. The overall goal is to ensure the safety and security of U.S. TikTok users.
Job Description: Summer 2025 Internship – Tech and Product Team
The TikTok USDS Tech and Product team seeks interns for Summer 2025. The internship aims to provide hands-on experience and industry exposure. Interns will contribute to projects focused on empowering U.S. users with a great experience while maintaining strong data security and privacy. The work will focus on compliance, reliability, business and product support, and efficiency improvements.
Specific project areas may include:
• Supporting a critical e-commerce platform: This involves service reliability, scalability, and release management in a cloud-native environment.
• Building core systems for a full-stack search engine: This includes optimizing search quality for improved user experience.
• Working on specialized ETL and data engineering projects: Specific tasks within this area will depend on the chosen project.
The internship is a 12-week program starting in May/June 2025 with several specific start dates offered. A hybrid work schedule (3 days in the office) is currently in place, subject to change. The internship includes social events and development workshops.
