About the Data Analyst Internship

Location: New York City, Hybrid (office and remote)

Dates: June 9, 2025 – August 15, 2025

Responsibilities:

As a Data Analyst intern, you’ll be part of the Dow Jones Data Management team, supporting projects related to data insights, engineering, and transformation strategy. This role plays a vital part in achieving Dow Jones’ strategic goals.

You will:

Assist with customer-facing report deliveries: This includes both existing reports and ad hoc requests.
Interpret trends from data: You will analyze data and work with stakeholders to understand the factors behind the trends.
Contribute to the development of dashboards: You’ll be involved in creating daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly dashboards using tools like Adobe, Tableau, Google Analytics, or other approved platforms. This involves leveraging internal data lakes.
Apply analytical skills: You’ll utilize your skills in quantitative analysis, data exploration, and presentation to decipher data patterns and understand how users interact with Dow Jones products.
Support the use of cutting-edge technology: You’ll be involved in various aspects of the data lifecycle, from pipelines and analysis to models, algorithms, and visualization.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years completed towards a Bachelor’s degree: In a quantitative field (Statistics, Engineering, Economics, etc.).
Experience with data analysis and problem-solving: You should be comfortable working with large and diverse datasets.
Basic proficiency in SQL and Python: Or knowledge of relational databases and efficient data retrieval methods.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills: Including advanced formulas and functions.
Effective communication skills: You should be able to communicate your findings clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Curiosity and desire to learn: You should be eager to explore data, identify patterns, and uncover new insights.
Exposure to cloud infrastructure: Experience with AWS/S3 is a plus.
Hands-on coding experience: This is also a plus.

Compensation: $25.00/hour
