Job Description: Summer 2025 Internship
Freese and Nichols is seeking interns for summer 2025 across various engineering disciplines. The internship program, recognized by Yello and WayUp, offers opportunities to work on impactful community projects under the guidance of experienced engineers.
What the Summer Will Look Like:
• Hands-on experience: Interns will work on projects within a chosen engineering discipline, contributing to real-world tasks.
• Broader learning: Exposure to other technical practice areas within the company is provided to help interns explore their interests.
• Networking: Participation in events hosted by the Rise & Thrive employee resource group for young professionals will facilitate networking opportunities.
• In-office requirement: Daily in-office work is required to foster collaboration and connection within the team.
• No relocation assistance: Relocation or housing stipends are not offered.
Available Disciplines and Locations:
The internships are available in the following disciplines and locations:
• Transportation, Water Resource Planning, Water Resource Design, Stormwater, Water/Wastewater Master Planning, Water Transmission & Utilities, and Water/Wastewater Treatment
• Locations: Dallas/Ft Worth, TX (Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, and Denton); Houston, TX (Houston and Pearland); Austin, TX; San Antonio, TX; Lubbock, TX; Corpus Christi, TX; New Orleans, LA
Required Majors:
• Civil/Environmental/Water Resource Engineering
• Biological and Agricultural/Biosystems Engineering
• Structural/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering (Water Transmission & Utilities only)
Responsibilities:
• Performing specific tasks within larger assignments.
• Applying standard engineering practices and techniques.
• Assisting project managers as needed.
• Collecting, adjusting, correlating, and calculating data, identifying discrepancies.
Qualifications:
• Current enrollment in a BS or MS degree program in one of the listed majors.
• Expected graduation date of August 2025 or later.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Excel, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD, or GIS.
• Involvement in student organizations.
