Summer 2025 Internship Program

Balfour Beatty Construction is seeking motivated college students for our Summer 2025 Internship program in Scottsdale, AZ. If you have a passion for construction, a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and a dedication to client service, join our team!

Essential Functions:

• Gain experience managing project budgets, including controlling expenditures, coordinating billings, identifying work not covered by subcontractors, and ensuring efficient office support for cost and schedule management.
• Learn about Safety and Quality Control programs and how to address issues.
• Understand company procedures, correspondence processes, and office management practices.
• Develop skills in reviewing and processing submittals and shop drawings.
• Learn how to coordinate submittals, deliveries, and other project schedule-related tasks with the Superintendent.
• Monitor and review weekly and monthly reports, subcontractor meeting minutes, change orders, etc., to understand project processes.
• Analyze change documents and proposals for price review.
• Participate in meetings with architects and owners to gain insights into required information, progress reporting, and resolution of outstanding issues.
• Understand how changes, clarifications, RFIs, etc., are updated on “as-built” plans and coordinated with company supervision and subcontractors.
• Learn how to maintain RFI logs and change request logs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a Construction Management program.

Preferred Requirements:

• Prior commercial construction internship or work experience (highly recommended but not required).
• Ability to learn new skills and knowledge quickly.
• Active participation in training, seminars, and task team meetings.
• Growing understanding of construction details related to miscellaneous metals, casework, doors, specialties, radiation protection, etc.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
• Excellent organizational and management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
