Job Description:

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is searching for a Summer 2025 Blades Design Intern to join their team in Fort Worth, TX.

This internship focuses on the design, development, and support of aircraft system solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations for mission success. Blades designers work extensively with advanced composite materials, processes, lay-ups, and assemblies.

Typical tasks for this role include:

• Preparing drawing revisions and Engineering Change Orders
• Preparing Engineering Instructions and specification revisions
• Collaborating with Analysts, Material and Process Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Test Engineers, and suppliers to drive designs to closure

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Experience and/or knowledge of composite component design and manufacturing
Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving
Basic understanding of aerodynamics and aerodynamic loading
Highly competitive and motivated to take ownership of commitments and meet objectives
Ability to manage complex tasks and drive them to successful outcomes
US Citizenship

Desired Skills:

• Proficient with CATIA V5, 3DX
• Familiar with manufacturing aluminum, titanium, and composite parts
• Strong “hands-on” mechanical aptitude
• Ability to create tools to streamline complex engineering tasks (VB Macros, Python, Matlab, etc.)
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills

Important Information:

• This is a full-time, onsite internship in Fort Worth, TX.
• Lockheed Martin supports flexible work schedules.
• The anticipated schedule for this position is a 4×10-hour day, with 3 days off per week.
