Job Description: Summer 2025 Airframe Structures Intern

Location: Stratford, CT

Responsibilities:

As a Summer 2025 Airframe Structures Intern, you will contribute to ensuring the structural integrity of aircraft. Your role will involve:

• Performing structural and modal analysis
• Participating in structural design
• Providing support for fatigue and static testing
• Interacting with Design Engineers, Material and Process Engineers, Test Engineers, and suppliers to drive designs to closure

Qualifications:

Required:

Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with Engineering Software Tools (3D/2D CAD).
Basic knowledge of finite element analysis.
Ability to work full-time on-site at the Stratford, CT facility.
US Citizen.

Desired:

Proficiency with CATIA V5, 3DX, ANSYS, NASTRAN.
Ability to conduct structural analysis from a first principles perspective using free body diagrams and classical closed form equations.
Ability to create tools to streamline complex engineering tasks (VB Macros, Python, Matlab, etc.).
Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
