Job Description
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a Summer 2024 High School Intern to join its team in Ocala, Florida. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of technical and engineering fields, including electronics engineering, software engineering, facilities engineering, and manufacturing engineering.
Responsibilities
• Perform short-term assignments in technical/engineering organizations
• Assist with research and development projects
• Participate in team meetings and presentations
• Learn about the defense industry and Lockheed Martin’s products and services
Qualifications
• Enrolled in High School
• Good working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Excellent organizational skills
• The candidate must be a US citizen
• Minimum age of 16 at the start of the internship
Desired Skills
• Understanding of Engineering skills and techniques
• Demonstrated interest in math, science, engineering or technology, such as participation in STEM extracurricular activities or intentional enrollment in additional STEM courses in high school
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn a variety of new skills & tools
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
This position is located at a facility that requires special access and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
