Job Description: Student Intern (Regulatory Analysis and Communications)
This is a part-time internship position within L.A. Care Health Plan’s Talent Strategy & HR Technology Department, located in Los Angeles, CA. As a student intern, you will assume the role of a regular staff member and assist with specialized project and administrative tasks to ensure the coordination and completion of all segments of assigned projects.
Key Duties:
• Assist with specialized project and administrative tasks.
• Compile and consolidate reports, and prepare presentations based on findings or outcomes.
• Assist with various administrative tasks.
• Complete project timelines (if applicable).
• Conduct research and gather data for reports and presentations.
• Work closely with assigned staff and varying levels of management.
• Maintain cooperation and participation with key people involved in projects.
• Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and rules.
• Adhere to company policies governing confidentiality.
• Assume personal and professional responsibilities for actions and activities.
• Maintain professional relationships with company employees and customers.
• Utilize a courteous, enthusiastic, open-minded, critical approach to policies and procedures.
• Relate and apply knowledge acquired in the academic setting to the company setting.
• Develop self-awareness in regard to attitudes, values, and behavior patterns that influence work.
• Prepare for and utilize conferences and other opportunities of learning afforded in the company.
• Be consistent and punctual in the submission of all work assignments.
• Provide the faculty coordinator with periodic progress reports.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Possible Internship Duties (Specific to Regulatory Analysis and Communications):
• Conduct and compile regulatory research to help address requests for clarification on regulations and requirements.
• Support implementation and enhancements to the Regulatory Change Management and Policy Management Programs, including scheduling and attending meetings, taking notes, updating project leads, and analyzing/summarizing metrics.
• Provide administrative support to Compliance Committees and Compliance staff, including coordinating meetings, taking meeting minutes, data entry and tracking, and stakeholder outreach.
• Actively support and participate in Compliance projects (e.g., Glossary Update, GRC software) through reviewing documents, research, data entry, tracking, and stakeholder outreach.
Qualifications:
• Required: Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree and field placement program.
• Required: Must have general experience writing, meeting project deadlines, and working with basic Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
